Cygnet Health Care have been providing a national network of high quality specialist mental health services for more than 30 years.

We’re looking for a new headteacher to lead ‘Summit School,’ an OFSTED ‘Good’ provision based at Cygnet Joyce Parker hospital. 

Cygnet Joyce Parker is a tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) unit. 

The successful candidate will have the qualities required to lead a school which is part of a wider hospital provision, aptly able to liaise with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver holistic care. Applications are welcome from leaders who demonstrate the qualities required but don’t yet have headship experience, as extensive support and mentoring will be available.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Oversee the day-to-day  delivery of high quality education 

• Appoint, manage, develop & lead a team of staff

• Develop & implement the Education Plan, & achieve or exceed agreed outcomes 

• Work with the multidisciplinary team to provide seamless services for young people

• Ensure the school meets all of the independent school standards

• Maintain links with key stakeholders across the Cygnet organisation 

• Effectively manage resources, maximise attendance & maintain behavioural standards.

You are… 

• A qualified teacher (QTS) with leadership or Head Teacher experience

• An outstanding educator with the passion & vision to transform vulnerable lives

• Able to inspire, motivate & manage staff & students

• Skilled in developing & delivering high quality education 

• Knowledgeable in safeguarding, child protection & Head Teachers’ statutory responsibilities

• Empathetic & understanding of the challenges faced by our young people

• Determined, with a strong personality & influencing skills

• Strategic, focused & a team player.
