Teaching ServiceSydney Secondary College, Leichhardt Campus is a partially selective co-educational middle school which caters for students from Year 7 to Year 10 and is located in the inner west. The school has an enrolment of 930 students and includes a support unit with a designated Head Teacher for students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities and autism. The student body consists of 3.6% students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background. A commitment to innovative, rigorous and future focused education to build a culture of lifelong learning for both students and teachers underpins the directions of the school. There are strong links to the broader community and a highly effective and involved P & C. All Sydney Secondary College Principals work together through the College Management Group to enact their responsibility for effective collegiate decision-making. The College fosters cross campus teaching opportunities for experienced and early career staff to work proactively together across middle and senior school settings.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead staff in the development and promotion of all creative and performing arts disciplines, including the development and implementation of CAPA curricula/programs
- Demonstrated ability to initiate curricular and co-curricular programs that engage and develop gifted students within the CAPA key learning area
- Assist the ongoing development of College Partnerships that promote CAPA subjects across the three campuses
- Demonstrated ability to take on school wide roles and work collaboratively with the executive team to support, develop and lead initiatives that address the strategic directions in the school plan
- Liaison with the College Instrumental Music Program
