Teaching ServiceJohn Edmondson High School, with an enrolment of approximately 1130 students, including 58% of students from a non-English speaking background and 41 Aboriginal students, is a dynamic Year 7 - 12 comprehensive co-educational high school. The school serves a community in South West Sydney in the Liverpool area that includes a wide range of families from diverse cultural and socio-economic groups living in suburban, as well as semi-rural environments. The school has an extensive curriculum and promotes academic, sporting and leadership development and achievement. Innovative features include extensive technological resources and numerous opportunities for student enrichment. Strong links with partner Primary Schools as well as external providers are being extended to further develop student opportunities for learning and success. Demonstrated capacity to lead colleagues to plan, implement and differentiate curriculum, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning programs and practices, to improve learning outcomes and foster engagement for a diverse range of students.

Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret internal and external data sources to inform, design and lead targeted literacy initiatives that support the schools’ strategic directions to support student growth and attainment to improve the learning outcomes for all students.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an instructional leader to identify, plan for, and lead evidence informed high impact professional learning, capable of engaging staff and building capacity in lifting HSC outcomes and learning outcomes of HPGE students in each cohort within a culture of high expectations.

Evidence of highly developed interpersonal, communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to build the capacity of staff and nurture positive, quality relationships across the wider school community.
