Head Teacher

Dunston Hill Community Primary School

Group 3  ISR  18 - 24a

Our Head Teacher is retiring at the end of this school year and he has laid very strong foundations for the future. We are proud of our good Ofsted rating (October 2017) and have high aspirations for further improvement.

We are seeking a highly motivated, caring individual who can offer inspirational leadership and who can motivate colleagues and children alike.

Our school is close to the main A1 road and is co-located on a site with a pre-school and secondary school with whom we work in close partnership. We have fantastic facilities and extensive grounds which include an environmental garden, forest school and sports fields.

As our new Head Teacher you will:

Be inclusive and passionate about developing the potential of every child.

Have proven leadership and management skills.

Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with staff, governors, parents, children and the wider community.

Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning across all three key stages.

Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour.

Be resilient, creative and committed to the future success of the school.

Be an inspirational leader, manager and team player.

Be committed to the further development of all staff at every  stage of their careers including trainee teachers and apprentices.

In return we offer:

A friendly and welcoming school.

Children who are enthusiastic and enjoy learning.

Staff who are fully committed to the children and the school.

A supportive and active governing body.

An abundance of resources to build for the future.

An exciting opportunity for personal development as you shape the future of the school.

Excellent job satisfaction and rewards.

If successful you will have to apply for an enhanced Disclosure.

This post may require a Declaration under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009 including Disqualification by Association.

Visits to the school are most welcome.  Please contact School Business Manager, Louise Briggs (0191 433 4021) to arrange a visit.
