Teaching ServiceChifley College Bidwill Campus is a comprehensive 7-12 campus in Chifley College, located in Western Sydney on the land of the Darug people. We share our site with Bidwill Public School and Bidwill Preschool, giving us a uniquely family oriented, community atmosphere and culture. Our current enrolment is 670, which has been steadily growing over the last five years. Around 21% of students identify as having an Aboriginal background and around 40% of students are from Pasifika families which includes members of the Samoan, Tongan, Cook Islands and Maori communities.
Our school embeds Positive Behaviour for Learning and builds its identity and sense of community on its core values of Responsibility, Learning and Respect. This is complemented with our commitment to Choice Theory as a guiding principle. All teaching and learning programs, and all wellbeing initiatives, are designed to reinforce these values and support students in their social, personal and academic growth. Staff are committed to working together as a cohesive and collaborative team. The three strategic directions in our current plan include Student Growth and Attainment, Inclusive Learning Culture, and Innovative Learning Partnerships.
- Approval to teach mathematics (7-10) and mathematics (11-12), with demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching practice to promote positive student engagement
- Ability to lead whole school numeracy strategies using data informed practices to support the current Strategic Improvement Plan
- Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills with the capability to be a highly effective and collaborative member of the school’s executive team
- Capacity to lead a faculty team and build the capabilities of other teachers in the faculty to collaboratively plan, differentiate curriculum and effectively assess student progress
- Capacity to collaborate within the school and across wider communities to support student learning and engagement to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
