Horton Mill Primary is a successful medium-sized school situated in the Glodwick area of Oldham. Our school has a higher than average intake of pupil premium and SEN children. As our new Headteacher you will be an innovative practitioner and have the ability to reach out to the wider community. An inspirational leader you will be able to take the school forward and be able to inspire staff and parents to join you in that goal.

You should have an excellent knowledge of effective school systems and be able to demonstrate a verifiable track record of school improvement. You should be an outward looking leader who will be able to make the most of the opportunities available to work with other schools within the borough.

Your key tasks will be to support and motivate staff, governors and parents to build on our considerable achievements, ensuring continuity for the school community and maintaining the excellent progress we have made.

Oldham is a borough which believes in giving 'headroom' to Headteachers of high performing schools so they can support other schools in reaching their full potential. The Local Authority has recently commissioned a fundamental report into the town’s education system, a key focus of which is the development of a self-improving school system.
