Teaching ServiceMorisset High School is a proud comprehensive public school that caters for Year 7-12 students. The school has approximately 730 enrolments including 12% Aboriginal Students and students in our special education unit. Our staff commit to being informed professionals who cater for the educational, physical, social and psychological wellbeing of our students. The school continues to strengthen the Western Shores Learning Alliance (WSLA), to ensure a proactive K-12 approach to education is adopted. We seek input from the community to ensure all key stakeholders are consulted. The school has a Big Picture Academy which oversees four Advisories (classes), to provide an alternate learning structure in further support of our community.
An active Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) and Itji-Marru, our Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) support the school and have high expectations of an inclusive school that values and encourages community participation. The Positive Behaviour for Learning processes adopted by all schools in the WSLA believes that education is the key through being safe, being respectful in all situations, and being engaged in preparing for your future. Staff and students promote life-long learning as the key to building a stronger learning community.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective member of the school executive team to lead, manage, implement and monitor programs and initiatives that improve student engagement and outcomes, supporting whole school strategic directions.
High level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise resources, communicate effectively with stakeholders in leading and managing daily operations, including the employment of casual and temporary teachers, using a range of school and DoE systems such as Edval and Sentral.
Evidenced ability to plan and lead collaborative, whole school high impact professional learning that supports a dedicated school staff to maintain high academic, social and cultural expectations across the school and community.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to build strong teams and actively engage staff, students, parents and the community in strategies to promote a culture of high expectations.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
