Teaching ServiceThe Ponds High School, located in the suburb of The Ponds in the north-west of Sydney is a 7-12 comprehensive high school that currently has 1886 students in Years 7-12, 2021. Fifty-three per cent of these students come from a non-English speaking background and 1.3% identify as ATSI. The school shares a site with Riverbank Public school and is a part of innovative and energetic community approach to teaching and learning. The school has developed outstanding teaching and learning programs including; a strong welfare approach to student wellbeing, a culturally inclusive program and support for the creative and performing arts. The school has a small support class and a HPGE class in each year and has an active BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program using the learning platform Canvas. The Stage 5 and 6 elective structure provides extensive choice for students. As part of the organisational structure, TPHS has three Head Teacher Secondary Studies positions, each one oversees the management of curriculum and welfare needs particular to Stage 4, 5 or Stage 6 students and their families. Current whole school learning and teaching priorities include; using Canvas for effective learning, student differentiation & engagement and literacy. School priorities in the new School Improvement Plan (SIP) include Student Growth and Attainment, Leading and Learning through Choice and Connectedness.
High level organisational skills to ensure the successful prioritisation and management of complex Stage 5 related school duties including reporting, assessment and subject selections.
Outstanding knowledge of and administrative skills to monitor and manage NESA requirements for Stage 5 students, ensuring compliance and effective communication with all stakeholders
Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to foster collaborative, genuine relationships with students, staff, parents/caregivers, and the wider community in the pursuit of educational excellence and student wellbeing.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective member of the school executive team to lead, manage and implement programs and initiatives that improve student engagement and outcomes, supporting whole school strategic targets.
