Focus School Swaffham Campus is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, respected and truly inspirational practitioner to lead our school. 

As Trustees, we recognise the importance of continuous upward development, therefore the Head Teacher we are looking to appoint must have the vision, energy and leadership skills to achieve this. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and be passionate about influencing educational best practice, to lead remarkable learning.

We aim to recruit individuals who display the character and competence to drive our school towards success and support the school’s drive towards achieving ‘outstanding’ status. They will share in the school’s vision and fully support our ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continually raise student aspiration, attainment and progress through improvement in the quality of teaching and learning across the key stages
  • Provide leadership, inspiration and management, and model outstanding teaching practice
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the curriculum including the development and well-being of the individual learner
  • Consistently manage and improve the performance of the teaching staff to enhance the delivery of an inspiring quality curriculum leading to better outcomes for all
  • Uphold and promulgate the Focus ethos and high moral values across all areas of the school
  • Maintain orderly systems for student management and day-to-day organisation
  • Promote and model positive, effective communications and relationships with all stakeholders

The drive to create learners who are self-directed is advanced at OneSchool Swaffham Campus with students having access to state of the art learning centres in both senior and primary areas and a sixth form business centre. In these areas students share best practice and collaborate with a mature approach and a burning desire to achieve. Progressive use of IT is central to life at Swaffham with all students in the senior years each having use of their own laptop. Our highly engaged staff group provide support for the learning with the shared, clear understanding that expectations for achievement are not limited. We deliver a broad curriculum to students from Year 3 to 13 and provide student leadership opportunities and extracurricular involvement wherever possible.
