Teaching ServiceEvans High School, a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school has served the South Blacktown community since 1973. The school caters for over 710 students (62% Language Other than English) and provides a broad curriculum, including the full range of academic subjects as well as a number of vocational education pathways to ensure all students have the opportunity to achieve their career pathways. The school has received two Regional Directors Awards for Innovative Use of ICT in Learning and Middle Years Literacy. The school is part of a Learning Community Group with Walters Road Public School and Blacktown West Public School. Evans High School includes a unit which caters for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Evans High School also hosts the Western Sydney Region Return to School Centre, which is a NSW Government Initiative aimed at supporting the return to school of students who have been placed on long suspension. Evans High School includes the Evans Intensive English Centre which caters for recently arrived students from overseas who are in need of intensive tuition in English. Many of these students come from areas of high conflict in various parts of the world.
1. Approval to teach Technology Mandatory and either Timber Technology or VET Construction or VET Metals, or preparedness to undertake VET training in Construction - General providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
2. Capacity to lead the TAS faculty in the analysis of data and evidence of learning to support colleagues at a variety of career stages to implement effective pedagogy that leads to improved student learning outcomes for a diverse range of learners.
3. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to provide strong educational leadership to create a cohesive and collaborative learning environment, resulting in a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement across the school.
4. Well-developed ability to build a culture of high expectations, improvement and continued excellence through a range of systems and practices in leading and managing the TAS faculty.
5. Demonstrated capacity to work as a dynamic member of the executive team and to lead initiatives that address whole school strategic directions and nurture positive and productive relationships across the school community.
