"Crossroads Primary School is a rural school serving the villages of Brough, Scarfskerry, Mey, Barrock and also Dunnet Head. The school building is modern and consists of three good sized classrooms, a large hall / dining room and a kitchen. There are two teachers in the school and two classes, normally split as P1-4 and P5-7. The walled playground contains a generous tarmac area, including a play area with a netball pitch, a large grass area, part of which is used as a football pitch and shelter area for wet weather. We also have disabled access at one of our entrances. A new tarmac turning area for the school bus and new cycle shed were put in place in April 2006. We actively promote partnership between home, school and the wider community and have an active and supportive Parents Association and School Board.
The school has the distinction of being the most northerly on the British mainland and has a very pleasant situation looking onto Dunnet Head and the Pentland Firth."
