Job overview

Brooke School, is an all-age broad-spectrum special school based in Rugby, Warwickshire.

We are an integral part of Unity MAT, which is a small, ambitious trust comprising of ourselves and 2 other similar special schools. Our collaborative working means that we have a shared understanding of the challenges and issues that our schools face and can work together to find solutions. The schools are supported by a strong Core Team who provide dedicated support services across the Trust.

At our last Ofsted inspection (published October 2022), we were placed in Special Measures. Since then, the Trust has implemented a substantial support package and our first monitoring visit identified significant improvements, which we continue to build on as we move forward towards good and beyond.

Sadly our current Head Teacher will be leaving us soon which means that we are looking to recruit a dynamic leader to continue the momentum we have established, using the excellent work that has been done so far as a springboard to success.

What we need:

We are seeking a proven, inspirational leader with the vision, knowledge and experience to enhance the progress made and drive our existing and developing good practice forward at pace.

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with pupils with a range of complex needs, curriculum development/delivery and the current Education Inspection Framework.

· a collaborative approach to being part of an ambitious Trust

· the ability to work strategically as part of the Trust’s Executive Leadership Team

· a vision for the future development of the school

· the skills to lead, motivate and inspire by being a visible leader

· the ability to deliver a diverse curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils

· an outward facing approach in order to build and develop relationships and partnership working

· excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, resilience and a positive attitude.

In return, we can offer:

· enthusiastic, friendly and engaged pupils who are keen to learn

· an engaged community of families and external partners

· a talented, dedicated and hardworking staff and SLT team

· a supportive and proactive Trust Board and Chief Executive

· being a member of the Executive Leadership Team

· an opportunity to be a part of the development of the Trust.

In addition to a competitive salary, we provide:

· Access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme

· Excellent training and development opportunities

· Strategic Leadership Development training and personal coaching
