Job overview

Headteacher & Chief Executive Officer

Salary: In excess of £125,000

Start Date: September 2021

Westcliff High School for Girls and South East Essex Academy Trust

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and forward-thinking leader as the Headteacher of Westcliff High School for Girls and CEO of South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT).

You will be joining the Trust at a pivotal time as a further three schools consider joining, taking the Trust to 7 schools (2 secondary phase, 3 primary phase and 2 junior phase) serving nearly 4000 students. We will be establishing an ambitious strategic plan to ensure an exceptional educational and cultural experience for all of the young people that come into our care.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational strategic leader able to develop and articulate the vision, values and ethos of the Trust to ensure a culture of excellence and high expectations in all our students and will empower others to do the same. You will share our commitment to ensuring that all students at Westcliff High School for Girls and within the other SEEAT schools achieve their full potential.  Already an experienced leader with a track record of success, you will bring a record of successful change management and partnership working. You will be able to demonstrate extensive staff development experience and expertise. Most importantly, you will have a passion for education and children’s learning, with the determination to make a positive difference and commitment to continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will know how to maintain and deliver systemic rigour across the breadth of a Multi-Academy Trust or similar large organisation, achieved through collaborative working and the nurturing of a high-performance culture through all key strategic stake holders.

We have a passion for working collaboratively with schools across all phases and we have seen the benefits of this approach to all those involved.  We believe that all the schools in the MAT have become significantly stronger since working together as part of SEEAT.

Appointed initially as Headteacher & CEO the successful candidate will lead Westcliff High School for Girls and gradually transition to become a full time CEO as the Trust grows.

Westcliff High School for Girls is an outstanding academy grammar school with high aspirations for all our students. We have an enviable reputation for our work ethic and the school is regularly in the top 100 of all state schools for our performance at GCSE and Advanced Level.
