The Role
The new headteacher will have a passion for working with students with special needs and autism as well as a belief in the transformative impact that school can have on their lives.
The school is currently an independent primary school looking to expand into an all through school and requires a headteacher that can lead the school’s expansion into secondary offering 120 pupil places. The headteacher will play a part in the pupils ongoing development into a Centre of Excellence encompassing assessment and diagnosis and a research centre.
The new head will have overall responsibility for the staff of the Primary and Secondary School site and building in accordance with legislative requirements. Together with the Governors and Senior Leadership Team the new headteacher will set a vision and review and regularly define the values and aims for the School.
The School
The school is an Ofsted Outstanding primary special school that provides a specialist meaningful and functional learning environment for children with special educational needs. This includes language, communication and social pragmatic difficulties. The school have a specialism in autism spectrum challenges (ASC).
The school’s approach is warm, friendly and nurturing. They believe that all children have the potential to achieve, but that every child is individual and requires a tailored, child-centred approach to learning. Emotional health and resilience, developing children’s independence and learning, is at the core of the schools’ vision.
