Ralph Allen School, Bath is looking for a new Headteacher. The school is a high-achieving and inclusive learning community. We seek to be aspirational and innovative in everything we do and are ambitious to build on our strengths.

As a result of our Executive Principal’s promotion to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Palladian Academy Trust, we are looking for a Headteacher to lead our school.

We are looking to appoint someone whose leadership and focused energy will inspire our community, helping to shape our future and move Ralph Allen School from good to great.

The school is a founding member of the Palladian Academy Trust, formed in 2016. This will bring significant opportunities for the future, as will our plans for curriculum and campus development, and city-wide collaboration.

Ralph Allen School is a co-educational, non-denominational, over-subscribed academy for students aged 11 to 18 years, situated in the World Heritage city of Bath.  Our ethos is one of achievement through respect, teamwork and personal best.

In 2016 it became a founder member of the Palladian Academy Trust, composed of eight local schools.

Ralph Allen School was named after the Bath mine owner, entrepreneur and philanthropist who helped with the building of Georgian Bath and the early development of the Post Office.

The school was founded in 1957 and became an academy in August 2012. It is celebrating its 60th anniversary during 2017-18.  Following recent exciting campus developments, the school has formulated a comprehensive strategic vision for future campus expansion.

Ralph Allen School aims to be both exceptional and extraordinary, embracing difference and diversity and inspiring everyone to reach their full potential. The school strives to have a welcoming environment so everyone feels as though they belong. Teachers want to develop respect, resilience and resourcefulness in each student. The school also wants to ensure its pupils become active, thoughtful and responsible citizens of the world.

The secondary school specialises in three core subjects: English, Math's and Science. It has been mentioned in The Times on its annual list of highest-achieving schools. It has great facilities for extra-curricular activities, including an art and photography building and an all-weather sports pitch.

Ofsted report

Ralph Allen achieved a 'Good' when it was last inspected in 2018, with one of those outstanding features being the Sixth Form. Ofsted assessments of the school have never been below 'Good'.
