Job overview

Looking for an opportunity to shape a new school at the heart of an established and supportive community? ‘Chandag’ Primary School will open in September 2023 in East Keynsham, near Bristol and Bath, on a campus alongside two successful secondary schools. We are seeking an exceptional leader to create this new primary school and develop its distinctive ethos as an all-through primary school, which will include naming the new school. You will lead the merger of the current infant and junior schools on the site, embracing their already excellent practice and enhancing it with inspirational 21st century innovations.

Chandag Primary School benefits from being part of the Futura Learning Partnership family of schools. We are a respected multi-academy trust operating in Somerset and the West of England region that in 2023 will comprise 27 schools with 12,000 children and 1,500 staff. Each school retains its own identity, reflective of the community it serves, while enjoying the support of a strong trust. Our Futura curriculum has been developed collaboratively to ensure we can help all our pupils to fulfil their potential. We are also committed to creating an environment in which our talented staff thrive.

We are looking for a Headteacher who:

  • Has a proven track record of raising pupil attainment across the primary phase.
  • Is supportive of Futura Learning Partnership aims and committed to working closely with other trust senior leaders and their schools.
  • Will empower and inspire staff, promoting effective teaching and learning, developing the school’s ethos and encouraging innovation.
  • Will optimise the social and emotional development of children so they can become well rounded, caring individuals.
  • Will build upon good relationships within the school, across our trust, with parents and in the wider community.
  • Is committed to excellent safeguarding procedures.

In return we can offer you:

  • A strong programme of leadership support and development, delivered by experienced professionals.
  • Positive, courteous and thoughtful children who take pride in their school.
  • An excellent team of practitioners, passionate about improving children's opportunities and outcomes.
  • Strong community links and highly supportive parents.
  • A proactive and energetic local governing committee.
  • Generous staff benefits including discounted sports centre/gym membership, free wellbeing support & medical cover, free on-site parking and cycle to work scheme.

If you share our passion for raising aspirations and increasing children’s life chances through education, and if you believe that you have the skills and expertise to make a significant contribution to the life and work of our school, pleased consider joining Chandag Primary School as our first Headteacher.

Closing date: 9 January 2023.

We warmly invite you to make a visit to our schools where you will be able to meet members of staff, children and governors. To arrange your visit please contact Tor Manuel at Futura Learning Partnership central team office on 0117 946 1229.
