The Governors wish to appoint an outstanding professional to lead this successful and inclusive school with a passion and commitment to young learners and the strategic skills to adapt to and thrive in a continually changing educational landscape. This headship presents an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated headteacher with vision who would lead by example to work with a talented, committed and caring staff. The Governors recognise that the school is at a key moment in its development and wish to appoint a leader who will help the Board to shape the school’s future direction, seizing the considerable opportunity that such a vibrant school presents.

Oldfield is a Single Academy Trust graded Good at its 2020 OFSTED inspection.

We would expect our ideal candidate to fully embrace the School’s ethos:

To Inspire, To Learn, To Succeed.

Oldfield School is a successful, high attaining 11-18 mixed comprehensive with over 1240 students located in the historic city of Bath. The school campus is on the outskirts of the north-west of the city and we benefit from a large, semi-rural setting with good transport links for students and staff. Our school has an excellent reputation locally and in the wider community for academic excellence and the quality of its pastoral care and support. We are fortunate to have a supportive parent body who are actively involved in the life of the school and who have high aspirations for their children.

You would be supported by a dedicated governing body who are engaged and determined to support you in providing an exceptional education which allows all our students to learn, inspire and succeed. In addition, we provide an inclusive ethos that attracts a vibrant and diverse range of students ensuring that we are consistently over-subscribed. You would also benefit from strong links and partnerships with other schools in the Local Authority through our membership of the Bath Educational Trust.
