Headteacher

The Governing Body wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to lead the next stage of development of our happy and successful school following the scheduled retirement of our current Head Peter Fenton, who will be leaving us at Easter 2017.

We asked our School Council what they would want their new Headteacher to be like. Their ideas included someone who was:

• Active, involved in sports/ interesting assemblies/Eid parties/playtimes
• Friendly, smiley, approachable with a good sense of humour
• A good role model who is “Calm and kind”
• Fair! Balanced and not too strict
• Teaches us. Not always in an office.
• Respects people’s religions and is sensitive to our beliefs
• Not moody, nice to everybody; children, staff and visitors

The successful applicant will be optimistic, ambitious, motivated and inspirational for children and staff alike. They will have experience of successfully leading learning and teaching with energy and enjoyment; they will be enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful in their approach to the further development of the school and its staff.

The successful person will demonstrate their impact on:

• Continuing school improvement
• Positive leadership to inspire staff
• Raising standards for all of our pupils
• An ability to further develop links with our supportive parents and the wider community
• High expectations of pupil attainment and pupil behaviour
