Due to the retirement of the current post-holder, Wycombe High School Academies Trust (WHSAT) is looking to appoint a Headteacher to lead Bourne End Academy. You will be an inspiring, driven and effective practitioner, with the energy and commitment to lead the school on our journey to ‘Outstanding’.

Bourne End Academy’s school motto ‘Believe, Engage, Aspire’ is at the heart of everything we do. We combine an exceptional learning experience with a rewarding, enriching curriculum which broadens students’ horizons and encourages them to believe in their abilities. We are extremely proud of the significant and positive change at our school to ensure that we have a track record of achieving consistently good outcomes for all. We are situated in the heart of Bourne End, a busy, vibrant and welcoming village, with direct transport links to London, close to major motorways and Heathrow Airport.

We are seeking an ambitious, dedicated and focused Headteacher. The post will suit an existing Headteacher looking to extend their career over time within a Trust structure, e.g. to Executive Headship, or an excellent Deputy Headteacher with the skills needed to move the school forward. The successful candidate will have a track record of raising standards and improving outcomes and will be somebody with a passion for improving social mobility. The expectation is for the successful candidate to contribute towards the development of the Trust and Trust priorities.

Previously known as The Wye Valley School, Bourne End Academy adopted its current moniker following its conversion to academy status in 2014, the school is now a part of the Wycombe High School Academies Trust. With around 600 pupils aged 11-18 in a co-educational setting, Bourne End Academy is smaller than the average secondary school of its type. In terms of intake, the school has a higher than average number of students with Special Educational Needs, with the school providing a specially resourced unit for students with Autism.
