The Governing Body of Alperton Community School is actively seeking an exceptional Headteacher to continue our commitment to providing an outstanding education and realising the full potential of each student. 

Our current Headteacher, Mr McKenna, is retiring after sixteen successful years at the school, having overseen a significant improvement in both GCSE and A level results and the new build at our Ealing Road site. Our 2023 examination results continue on an upward trajectory and place our school in the “well above average” category for many categories including Progress 8, and we recently featured in The Sunday Times best state schools. Our A Level results are among the best in the country and our most recent full Ofsted inspection graded our school as “Good with outstanding leadership and management”. 

As a Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic objectives, ensuring exceptional academic outcomes for over 1950 students, including a vibrant Sixth Form. Our inclusive school, reflecting a diverse local community, has consistently achieved academic success, with many students progressing to Russell Group universities and Level 4 apprenticeships.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining Alperton Community School’s exceptional learning environment characterised by outstanding pastoral support and a commitment to continual improvement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the leadership team to ensure effective management and continuous development
  • Ensuring financial stability to provide a secure foundation for educational initiatives
  • Determining, implementing, and reviewing the curriculum to ensure breadth, balance, and relevance for all students
  • Establishing and maintaining ambitious expectations for all students, including those with additional and special educational needs and disabilities
  • Promoting the health and wellbeing of all students, staff, and volunteers
  • Ensuring a safe environment for all students and staff
  • Fostering a supportive atmosphere and promoting exceptional opportunities for all students and staff
