The Governing Body of St. Benedict’s RC Primary School in Handforth, Cheshire is seeking to appoint an inspirational Headteacher from January 2020, or before, for our happy, hardworking school, who will empower and nurture our children and staff to be their very best selves.

St. Benedict’s has a capacity of 210 children in our one-form entry school. Our children are kind, well-behaved, highly motivated learners. They feel safe, supported by a dedicated staff team. The family-centered school enjoys strong parental and community support and active engagement. St Benedict’s was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2016.

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious Catholic Headteacher with strong leadership qualities. The right candidate will show natural communication skills and a real passion for continuing to develop our children, staff and learning standards; they will have the ability to lead our school into its next exciting stage of development.

We are looking for a practising Catholic to:

  • inspire staff to commit to self-improvement and maintain consistently high standards of teaching and learning
  • Is passionate and innovative about the school delivering a rich, broad and inclusive curriculum;
  • motivate and nurture our children, and celebrate and encourage their achievements
  • engage constructively with parents, and lead the school’s relationship with the local community
  • work collegiately and strategically with the Governing Body
