Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a talented and dynamic Headteacher at St Teath Primary School from the start of the 2019-20 academic year or as soon as possible thereafter.  As well as having day-to-day leadership and management of the school, you will also work closely with the MAT leadership group and play a school improvement role across the partnership for one-day per week.

St Teath Primary School is a small rural school situated in North Cornwall lying between Wadebridge and Camelford, with Bodmin Moor to the east and the magnificent north Cornish coast to the west.  There are currently 4 teachers and approximately 105 pupils on roll. The school was graded as Good by Ofsted at its last inspection.

The school is part of North Cornwall Learning Trust’s cross phase multi school partnership of five schools. The NCLT is based in Camelford Primary School. You will be joining a very ambitious organisation, so we are seeking outstanding candidates who want to develop themselves to support our educational vision, provide strong leadership and effective support to colleagues and raise standards for our pupils. We are a collaborative group based on co-operative principles.

This would be an exciting opportunity for an ambitious existing Senior Leader to work alongside the Trust Leader and other heads to further their career.

Our ideal candidate will be an outstanding teacher and a strategic leader with a resilient character and strong personal drive. A belief in the potential of all children to excel regardless of their starting points, and the power of high expectations of self and others is an essential for this role.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 01208 850516 for an appointment.

Please complete an application and attach a covering letter addressed to Louise Paul, Chair of Governors and send to Judith Knock at jknock@nclt.academy

Key dates:

Closing date:  Wednesday 26th June 2019
Interviews:  Monday 8th July and Tuesday 9th July 2019

Safeguarding. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS check will be undertaken.
