We are seeking a new Headteacher :

• who will demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting the ethos of the school; who will be highly visible and accessible around the school and in the community to children, staff, parents and carers.

• who will motivate, inspire and develop staff whilst also ensuring well-being is valued and promoted as a core value.

• whose motivation is children and helping them achieve to the best of their abilities and who understands individual children’s needs and the wide range of experiences and factors that can impact on their well-being and achievement.

• who understand the educational, emotional and social impact of the pandemic.

• who is emotionally intelligent, child centred and trauma informed.

• Who has high aspirations for all learners

Skerne Park Academy became part of Hummersknott Academy Trust in 2013.  The Trust, whilst small at present, has aspirations to grow.  The successful candidate will benefit from the personal and professional support of the Executive Principal of the Trust.  You will be expected to provide strategic leadership and direction to all aspects of the Academy’s development within a common set of values shared with Hummersknott Academy Trust.  The Headteacher will be accountable to the Governing Body with full autonomy in the development of Skerne Park.  At the same time, resource support will be provided by Trust staff in areas of non-teaching such as finance, premises, human resource management and ICT, freeing you to focus on teaching and learning and improving outcomes for children.

Governors and staff are highly motivated to support a new Headteacher coming into this post and are committed to working with the new Headteacher to ensure that Skerne Park Academy remains a good school that supports and is supported by the whole school community.

Visits to the school are encouraged and can be arranged by contacting Claire Ainsley, Assistant Principal HR on 01325 246460 or email aan@hummersknott.org.uk for more information..

The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff to share this commitment.  Any offer of employment will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The Academy is committed to all aspects of personal development, is inclusive and seeks to ensure every individual achieves.
