We are looking for a Headteacher to join Longdon Park School in Derbyshire Longdon Park School provides education for 45 children between the ages of 7 and 18 who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism. As specialists in our field, we recognise that children with autism need to be taught in a different way; a way that is individual and relevant to them.

At Longdon Park School, we pride ourselves on helping the most vulnerable and hard to place children maximise their potential. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment where our young people learn to accept responsibility for their actions, make positive decisions and display pro-social behaviour.

As Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of children and young people and produces positive outcomes. A place at Longdon Park School will ensure improvements in behaviour, confidence and self-belief, which can then be transferred into appropriate and accelerated learning inside the classroom and beyond. At the School we offer a flexible, personalised, engaging skills based curriculum providing both choice and challenge focussed on developing emotional literacy, core subject knowledge and offering a wide range of accredited outcomes.

Working with your Senior Leadership Team you will ensure the school’s effective management and the required team capability to continually improve. You will be joining a high achieving company and executive team, leading your own school and positively impacting the lives of many young people. As part of our team you will focus on developing self-esteem and wellbeing, as well as academic performance and development.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to hear from experienced Headteachers or rising Senior Leaders with experience of inspiring multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outstanding learning for children and young people with special education needs.

The successful candidate will bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families. An excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for Longdon Park School and will have demonstrable experience of working in partnership with parents, commissioners, local authorities and other stakeholders.
