Headteacher

This well respected, OFSTED outstanding pre-prep, located in beautiful grounds just outside Exeter, seeks a dynamic new headteacher to work closely with the proprietor and staff, ideally for September 2019.

The New School opened in 1992 is a small but highly respected co-educational pre-prep school with a strong familial atmosphere of around 55 pupils, aged three to seven, and is located three miles outside Exeter.  Pupils at year two mostly look to gain a place at the selective schools in Exeter, with the majority of pupils transferring to the highly successful Exeter School, with which there are excellent links.

The New School has achieved three outstanding OFSTED inspections (2007, 2011 and 2017) and has a reputation for providing an unrivalled education for the pre-prep aged child.  Located in an idyllic semi-rural setting and housed in a former Victorian chapel, the New School combines excellent teaching and countless opportunities for pupils to grow in confidence and discover their talents. The New School is committed to providing the very highest standard of teaching and pastoral care to ensure that every child is well looked after, happy and fulfilled.

The present Headmistress and Proprietor is looking to step aside from daily involvement and is seeking to appoint a dynamic Head Teacher to work closely with both herself, the Deputy Headmistress, staff and parents  in leading the school through the coming years.

The successful candidate will be an EYFS and/or KS1 specialist and have demonstrable experience of successful leadership and management.
