The staff, children and governors of Decoy Community Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic and committed experienced Deputy, or existing Headteacher to further their career and have the determination to lead our school on its continuing journey of self-improvement. Rated Good in November 2016, Ofsted said ‘Pupils are proud of their school. Their friendly, respectful and welcoming attitudes towards each other and adults reflect the care and respect shown to them by staff.’

Do you have the skills, enthusiasm, and motivation to help our children to excel?  

You will need 

  • recent successful experience as a Headteacher at a primary school or as a Deputy Headteacher at a medium or large primary school.
  • to be an excellent teacher with the credibility to monitor, evaluate and review and support the continuous development of classroom practice.
  • leadership and management skills and be able to demonstrate a clear vision of excellence for the future of our school.
  • A vision for a curriculum that is ambitious for all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged and with additional needs.
  • proven knowledge and understanding of the business management aspects of operating a successful school.
  • a growth mind-set with the confidence to consider and explore school improvement initiatives as well as the opportunities that may arise to seek closer partnerships in an ever-changing educational landscape.
  • a record of successfully implementing initiatives to raise expectations and standards.
  • experience of analysing and using school performance data to inform school improvement planning, alongside governors.
  • to be able to communicate well with staff, pupils, parents, and governors.
  • a continuing concern for the wellbeing of staff and pupils.
  • a commitment to strategic thinking and planning to ensure the best attainment for each child.
  • a desire to build upon the school’s achievements to date.
  • a desire to foster good relations with parents, the PTA and outside organisations and agencies.

Closing date for applications is Noon on 31st January 2022 and interviews will be on 15th and 16th February 2022. Shortlisting will be completed by 4th February and candidates invited for interview shortly afterwards. The successful candidate will join us for the Autumn term 2022.
