Salary group: Scale L14 - L17: £68,586 - £73,819

Start date: September 2025

We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Headteacher for our community school, currently with 286 on roll. We are proud to be rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted since 2017. We are a local authority - maintained school.

Following a period of stable growth, development and improvement at the school, our ambitious Board and staff wish to continue to improve provision for our pupils. Never satisfied with ‘good enough’, indeed our guiding motto is "Adventure Together, Learn Forever”. This is true of not only how we approach school leadership, but most crucially - our school life. We embed outdoor experiences for pupils into our school day, clubs, trips and curriculum; from playing among the falling autumn leaves in the playground, to our Forest School after-school club, our weekly swimming lessons and even taking the classroom outside when weather and learning content permit. Our EYFS classrooms benefit from an extensive free-flowing outdoor area, further emphasising outdoor experiences and learning.

We offer a varied and challenging curriculum, delivered by experienced and passionate practitioners committed to enhancing both our pupils’ academic and personal/social development. Our phonics program excels, with small groups of 7-16, ensuring personalised attention. The love for learning is nurtured in our library's cozy corner alongside our reading scheme. Our school is anchored by our values—consideration, aspiration, and self-sufficiency—preparing pupils not only for future educational steps, but for life.

We are in a continued phase of growth and seek a strong, ambitious leader with a personable character, ready to embrace challenges and ‘get stuck in’. We are particularly keen to hear from experienced school leaders with a track record for delivering improvements in provision and outcomes.

What We Offer:

  • A team, supportive of innovative leadership, with experience of managing change.
  • A balanced curriculum with opportunities for pupil enrichment and lifelong learning.
  • A modern, comfortable and spacious setting
  • An opportunity to instigate tangible change
  • A commitment to providing strong SEND provision
  • A challenging and rewarding community school environment
