Job overview

Are you looking for a fresh challenge in a supportive Christian environment?

Our school offers an exciting opportunity for a Christian, innovative, enthusiastic head teacher, with a strong business acumen, who is capable of developing an already successful school.

We pride ourselves on offering an holistic, inspiring education to our children, in partnership with our parents and the wider community.

Our school ethos is taken from Job 34v4, “learning together what is good and right”. We are a high achieving school, but recognise the need for continued development, to ensure that every child is valued and reaches their full potential, and is well prepared for their move to secondary school

This presents an excellent opening for a current or aspiring head teacher, to lead and to work in a stimulating Christian environment, whilst having access to a beautiful area of Devon, which delivers potential for excellent leisure activities.

You will be supported by an enthusiastic and engaged team of governors, alongside a team of collaborative and dedicated teachers and TAs with a wide range of complementary talents and expertise. We are also fortunate to have a supportive parent body who desire the very best for their children.

We have 204 children from Foundation through to Year 6 and we offer wrap around care. We are very active at all Devon sporting fixtures and ensure that all children are given the opportunity to participate.

The school sits in the heart of a beautiful rural community with extensive grounds, an amphitheatre and an outdoor woodland area with a stream. Throughout the summer, all children swim daily in the school pool and this facility is frequently open in the evenings after school.

We want our prospective head to be visionary, hard-working, dynamic and self-motivated, able to clearly identify, along with staff and governors, areas where we need to improve. You will develop strategies to inspire and lead the team to build on our proven strengths to ensure we continue to deliver the best for our children.

Informal visits are very welcome. Please contact Jonathan Ambler, Chair of Governors, jambler@standrewscofe.co.uk to make an appointment.
