Due to the retirement of our current exceptional Headteacher, The Governors are seeking to appoint a Headteacher committed to sustaining and building on our strengths and our shared vision from our outstanding Ofsted inspection. 

We as Governors are proud of the positive developments our school has made. We are now looking forward to welcoming someone who is aligned to our culture and shares our values, someone who has a sense of purpose and is committed to lifelong learning where every individual is valued, nurtured and respected. 

We are looking for a Headteacher who will:

· Be an exceptional, motivated and inspirational leader.

· Have a clear vision and high expectations, with a proven track record of successful school leadership to take our Outstanding School forward.

· Have proven strong communication and management skills.

· Support the entitlement of pupils with a broad and balanced curriculum by ensuring equality of access to the whole curriculum for all pupils.

· Ensure that that education, interests and wellbeing of our pupils is of the highest priority. 

· Forge links with other local leaders who are committed to improving the lives of children in Doncaster, an expert in learning with a sense of togetherness and a passion for education.

This is an exciting time for our school as we continue in our journey in ‘Striving for Excellence’ and building on the excellent work and watching our children grow in character. Our school is an exciting, learning community with the emphasis on high quality teaching creating effective learners, putting great emphasis on the development of confidence, self-esteem, independence, kindness and courtesy. 

Saltergate Junior School is located in Scawsby to the west of Doncaster, close to the Cusworth Hall Estate and Country Park. It is a 3 form entry school serving local families and neighbouring communities. Saltersgate is a secure and happy place. Pupils in partnership with parents and carers are supported and helped to develop academically, socially, physically and emotionally.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and young people.
