The governing body are seeking to appoint an outstanding senior leader to the post of headteacher at Ridgewood School. The role is suitable for an experienced headteacher relishing a new challenge or an aspiring leader working
towards their first headship.

We are a larger than average secondary school with a substantial Sixth Form. In the main school, our results are continuing to improve and our students achieve in line with their peers nationally. In our Sixth Form, over 90% of our students go on to study at university, with one in three of these gaining a place at a prestigious Russell Group university.

To be successful at Ridgewood you will need to demonstrate a proven track record in strategic leadership and should possess the single-minded vision and drive to lead the school to continue to achieve success.

As school leadership is extremely influential on the success of a school, it is expected that you will be instrumental in shaping our future direction using your specific knowledge, skills, and attributes for the benefit of students, staff and
governors.

The successful candidate must:

  • be an inspirational leader with effective management experience
  • be committed to the continued development of students, staff and the wider community
  • display a collaborative and supportive approach to inspire and motivate others
  • possess the vision and drive to sustain and build on the school’s successes.

In return he/she will enjoy:

  • a dynamic learning environment for students
  • the opportunity to work with a dedicated and committed team of teaching and associate staff
  • the support of an experienced governing body.

Due to the measures imposed by government on the closure of schools and concerns over observing social distancing it is not currently possible to arrange visits to the school. However, it is strongly recommended that you take the time to visit our website at www.ridgewoodschool.co.uk.

An applicant pack and application form can be downloaded from TES or from www.educatehr.co.uk

Please return your completed application form, via email, to recruitment@educatehr.co.uk for the attention of Gill
Meeson (HR Director, EducateHR Ltd).

Closing date for applications: 8 June 2020 (by 12 noon)
Assessments/interviews to be held on: 23 and 24 June 2020

Ridgewood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and all staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake appropriate preemployment checks which will include references from previous employers, confirmation of the right to work in the UK and appropriate DBS and prohibition checks.

Safer recruitment practice aims to minimise the risk of appointing individuals who are unsuitable to work in a post where they will be in contact with children or vulnerable adults and could cause them harm.

Our selection processes observe best practice in selecting the appropriate candidate by ensuring equality of opportunity for all applicants whilst excluding any who may be unsuitable to work with our children.
