Job overview

Pennine View is a school with a strong history of providing “Good” and “Outstanding” education for children and young people with special educational needs. Although the school was graded as “inadequate” following its most recent Ofsted inspection, the school has made significant improvements under the leadership of the interim Executive Headteacher and the Intervention Board, and we are now seeking to recruit a permanent Headteacher to embed these improvements and continue the school’s improvement journey.

Pennine View serves 120 wonderful children and young people from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4. The school has a hard working and highly committed workforce.

Pennine View is currently being sponsored by Nexus Multi Academy Trust and is in the process of becoming an academy within this MAT.

At Pennine View, we believe that learning should be challenging, stimulating and enjoyable at all times. We have a strong belief in enrichment for our children and young people and we work hard to secure the best possible outcomes we can.

We are looking for an individual with strong child-centred values and a proven ability to lead the next exciting phase of Pennine View’s journey. Applications would be welcome from candidates in mainstream or special schools who can demonstrate knowledge of special educational needs and evidence the qualities listed below.

The successful person will have:

  • Highly effective leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate other people;
  • Experience of effectively leading and managing change and the ability to think strategically;
  • A strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working;
  • A deep understanding of how children and young people with additional needs learn and make good progress;
  • High expectations and the ambition, drive and determination for every child and young person to be 'the best they can be';
  • A strong commitment to working positively and pro-actively with parents, carers and a wide range of professionals and services; and
  • Excellent management and organisational skills.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to visit Pennine View to see the school at work. To arrange a visit please contact Lynda Billard, School Business Manager on 01709 864978 or at Lynda.Billard@pennineview.doncaster.sch.uk

For an informal conversation about the vacancy, please contact Mrs. Luci Windle, Interim-Executive Headteacher on 01709 864978 or email lwindle@nexusmat.org.

Please download an application pack and submit completed applications to clerk2@nexusmat.org.
