Our children need a fantastic new headteacher, they are looking for a special person and if that’s you we’d love to hear from you.

This is a unique opportunity to nourish and grow our new SEND school as part of our Dorset Centre of Excellence based in Shaftesbury.

We are looking for a dynamic leader to develop and grow the school which is for children aged 4 to 19, that sits as a core component within our vision for a Centre of Excellence supporting young people and professionals working with children.

With 40 children currently on role, we have a hugely ambitious growth plan to reach in excess of 200 children over the next 3 years.

Who do we want in this role?

The Headteacher will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and School Leadership Team to shape, develop and strengthen the work and reach of the school in securing outstanding outcomes for all pupils.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of outstanding teaching, leadership & management experience and a comprehensive understanding of SEND needs. They will have the ability to inspire and develop skilled staff, hold staff to account and to maintain a supportive and aspirational culture within the school. They will be solution focussed, resilient and an exceptional communicator. They will have the ability to demonstrate high-level organisation and operational management skills.

The successful candidate will be able to confidently analyse and act upon data and information, both internal and national to maintain and continuously develop the highest quality of education for pupils. They will be astute with sound evaluative and development planning skills. The successful candidate will be inspirational, influential and committed to working as part of a rapidly growing special school.
