 Dumfries High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary comprehensive in southwestern Scotland. As of the most recent inspection there were 987 students on the school roll. The town of Dumfries has a population of 40,000, and can be accessed by the A74(M) motorway and a rail station on the Glasgow South Western Line. The school is located adjacent to the David Keswick Athletic Centre. A famous alumni of the school is singer-songwriter Calvin Harris. Dumfries High School prides itself on a wide array of extra-curricular activities, which includes American Football, Debating, and Lego Animation.

“Clear signs were emerging of an improvement in the quality of pupils’ learning in English. Relationships between staff and pupils were positive. The quality of lessons varied. Teachers mostly gave clear instructions and explained work well. Pupils generally worked well on the tasks set.”
