Applications are invited from practising and committed Catholics for the post of Headteacher at St. Bede’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College to lead the school in the next exciting phase in its development. St. Bede’s is an extremely popular, high-achieving, successful and happy school, and enjoys an excellent reputation in North West Durham and beyond.

We are also responsible for the spiritual, moral and character formation of the young people in our care. We became an academy in 2012, and since 2020, we have been part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, a family of 5 secondary schools and 32 primary schools from across Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Northumberland, in the west of the Diocese.  

There is currently an Executive Headteacher in post at St. Bede’s. The appointment of a Headteacher will be an important part of the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust Secondary Headteachers Group and will benefit from the support of the Trust and Chief Executive Officer.  

This is an exciting time to lead our school. The successful candidate will have the ambition, determination, and expertise to ensure that the school continues to build on many considerable achievements made over recent years. Above all, we wish to appoint as Headteacher, a leader with:
