Job overview

At the London Academy Primary we are very clear about our aims and ambitions - that our children become eager and happy learners, full of curiosity about the world and ready to become “Leaders for Tomorrow”. We believe there are huge benefits to children in all-through schooling and as a result two years ago we opened the London Academy Primary on the same site as the secondary Academy which has established itself as a high performing place of learning.

We now have a separate high quality, purpose-built building with 130 children. Our results are above national average and our aim is to grow a full, thriving school with 420 school places serving the local community.

We are looking for our first Principal to play a key part in shaping our provision within the culture of a Trust that nurtures a love of learning. You will want to work as part of a team and welcome opportunities to share best practice with Deansbrook Junior School, which is within the Trust as well as other primary and secondary schools that we work with consistently as part of the AIM Alliance.

You might be an established principal/headteacher looking for a new challenge/opportunity or alternatively a deputy who feels ready to step up to their first headship. More importantly, you will have children's achievement at the heart of all you do. Your emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills enable you to get the best out of others, and your visibility, energy, enthusiasm and resilience; will set you apart as a leader.

You will join an equally talented and highly regarded team who themselves are committed to developing the educational standards and opportunities for young people in our local community.

Closing date: Tuesday 3rd April.

The London Academy Primary is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. Any offer of employment is subject to a satisfactory ‘Enhanced with a Barred List Check’ through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
