Job overview

Salary: L18 – L26: £72,125-£86,001 per annum, with more for exceptional candidates

Contract type: Full-time

Start Date: September 2020

Are you an enthusiastic and resilient leader, with the initiative and commitment necessary to ensure good practice is embedded throughout our school? Do you have the ability to think and plan strategically to promote the school’s and Trust’s vision, ethos and values? If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Eko Pathways is an all-through school for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs, rated as good by Ofsted. We focus on children’s learning, enrichment and removing barriers to their achievement, as well as working with parents and leading expert partners to support every child. Our mission is to ensure that every pupil learns, grows and thrives.

The next phase of the life of the school is exciting; the successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop cross-partnership work with our partner SEMH school in Barking and Dagenham, as well as explore ways to develop the provision more widely across the Local Authority.

The school benefits from a wide range of support and collaborative opportunities through Eko Trust, and you will play an active role across the Trust in developing your own and others’ practice. Our Trust-based National, Local and Specialist Leaders of Education work highly effectively on school to school support within our Trust schools and also in schools within the East of England and North East London region,  through our teaching school, the ‘East London Early Years and Schools Partnership’ and our Research School, ‘The East London Research School’.

You will have completed, or will be working towards, your NPQH, will have current or recent Headteacher experience or successful experience as a deputy or assistant Head, in an SEMH school.

You  will also have a proven track record in improving teaching and learning and embedding good practice, and in leading staff to achieve successful outcomes for all pupils. You will be able to demonstrate how you have successfully implemented significant change. Your personal skills will enable you to articulate and communicate your vision and form excellent relationships with all stakeholders.

Eko Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a comprehensive screening process, including a disclosure check, will be undertaken on all applicants.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and advised and can be arranged by contacting smitha.ravi@ekotrust.org.uk.

Further details and a full application pack are available by visiting our website via this link: https://www.ekotrust.org.uk/join-us/current-vacancies/headteacher-eko-pathways-school/

Please note, however, that (in common with most UK Schools and Colleges) we do not accept CVs.

Closing date for applications: 17th March at midday. Our selection process will be on 22nd and 23rd April 2021.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to undertake some psychometric tests before the selection day.
