Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity!

Sheffield South East Trust seeks a Headteacher to start in January 2018 or as early as possible up to September 2018, at Norfolk Community Primary and Nursery School.

For those with relevant experience there is an opportunity of an Executive Headship, including the dual role of substantive Headship at Norfolk Primary and additional responsibilities linked to School Improvement across the whole Trust.

The school serves a diverse and established community in the south east of the city. An Academy Order has been approved for the School to become part of the Sheffield South East Trust (SSET), which unites five local schools (Manor Lodge Primary, Wybourn Primary, Phillimore Primary and Acres Hill Primary). These schools work closely together for the benefit of the children and communities they serve. There are many opportunities for support, training and networking between the schools.

Norfolk Primary is a new build with a number of ecologically friendly features and large grounds. The school is committed to being highly inclusive and strives to deliver a truly creative curriculum. Early Years education is firmly embedded and the school leads the way in 2 year old provision within a primary setting. Norfolk Primary is a vibrant and outward-looking school. By being involved right at the beginning of the journey as a ‘new’ school following conversion, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with all stakeholders to move the school forward within a supportive local Trust. The Trust aims for schools to grow and flourish, by being individual and closely aligned with the community, whilst having strong networks and capacity with other similar local schools in SSET.

We are looking for a dynamic and resilient Headteacher who has high expectations for all pupils, which will lead to achieving high standards and rapid pupil progress. The successful candidate will be innovative and resourceful in leadership style, nurturing and challenging to raise the profile of Norfolk Primary. The ability to communicate clearly and build effective relationships is essential. An Executive Headteacher will also bring additional broad experience which would enhance School Improvement and support the Executive Principal.

In return the School and Trust can offer enthusiastic and motivated pupils who want to learn and achieve, alongside hardworking, dedicated and supportive staff and governors.

Applicants should complete the attached Sheffield South East Trust application form and return it to hrs-sheffield@capita-services.co.uk with the title Norfolk Community Primary Headteacher application in the email.
