Job overview

We are a long-established 11-16 co-ed secondary school serving a diverse community in North East Hampshire. Our students are lively, enthusiastic and keen to learn. They have positively embraced the many changes that the school has undergone since September 2014.

The staff and the wider school community have been supportive of the Interim Executive Board, Interim Executive Head and Interim Head of School in managing the challenges which the school faced. The school has recently successfully come out of a category and the Interim Executive Board are looking to appoint a permanent Headteacher to build on the excellent work done by the current interim leadership.

This post offers the right person the opportunity to:

  • Create and develop an effective team of school leaders at all levels
  • Shape a vision for the school and its community
  • Develop and lead an effective programme of professional development to support the growth of a team of excellent teachers
  • Build on the work already done to raise standards of achievement and attainment for all pupils, especially SEND, Higher Achievers and Disadvantaged Pupils
  • Build and support the development of an effective and independent Board of Governors
  • Contribute to the education debate and in conjunction with other local education providers and local agencies (including the local education authority) work towards establishing a local solution which will meet the challenges which schools face in the coming years
  • Develop their own professional skills and knowledge and use these both for the benefit of the school and wider education

The IEB have an uncompromising vision for the future of the school and its pupils focussed on continuing to raise the standards of teaching and learning so that all teaching is consistently at least good or outstanding and outcomes for all pupils at least meet or exceed national expectations. If you share our vision and drive then we look forward to receiving your application.
