St Mary’s CE Primary School, London, N8 is seeking to appoint an exceptional headteacher who will lead the school to its next phase and ensure its ongoing success.  

We are a vibrant two form entry primary school in Hornsey, with a thriving Nursery, taking children from three years old.  We benefit from having a well-resourced school with impressive facilities, spread over two sites. We were judged as “Good” in all categories by Ofsted in November 2022. 

Due to our abundant facilities and resources, we are a school with many strategic opportunities for the future, and whilst we have begun exploring these, there is a unique opportunity for a new headteacher to lead and shape this exciting journey.  

As a voluntary aided Church of England school, we work closely with the Governing body within a Christian framework to provide high quality teaching and learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We pride ourselves on the diversity of our school community.

The Governors are looking for:

• an inspirational leader with a strong track record of improving outcomes for children
• a commitment to delivering the provision of a high quality education through a broad, balanced and creative curriculum
• the ability to develop and further strengthen the teaching team by drawing on research informed practices to ensure the quality of education is ambitious and meets the needs of all learners
• the experience to evaluate the quality of education effectively and ensure that pupils learn the intended curriculum so that they know, understand and can do more
• an individual committed to promoting and developing the Christian character of the school by working closely with the local church and London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS).
• an individual with high expectations of all school stakeholders; one who has proven leadership and management skills
• an individual who has the ability to build on our current successes and is able to lead us to become an even greater school. 

As headteacher of St Mary’s, you will:

• work with a strong Senior Leadership Team and a dedicated Governing Board
• lead a committed and highly skilled staff team
• commit to getting the very best from our happy and highly motivated children
• work closely with the dedicated Inclusion Team to help support children in reaching their potential academically, socially and emotionally
