Job overview

Do you believe that the most challenging, often most vulnerable students deserve an education that nurtures their talents, ignites their interests and develops their skills to lead successful, productive lives?

Would you be relentless in ensuring that your students got the best teachers and best resources in the most effective learning environment to support them to re-engage, to take risks and to grow in confidence and self-esteem?

Olive AP Academy – Havering is looking for an exceptional individual, from any school background, who is passionate about their vision for alternative provision and has the strategic skills and expertise to deliver on our high expectations.

If you are the type of leader who is motivated to make a difference and tackles challenges effectively then this is the right role for you.

A new vision for the academy has been created. Planned £2.5million refurbishments to the current building, designed by pupils, staff, the local authority and the Olive Academies trust will provide the academy with the platform to improve quickly.

This is a key senior appointment for the recently formed but highly regarded Olive Academies multi-academy trust. You will work very closely with the CEO and play an integral role in shaping the strategic future of the academy and trust.

About Olive AP Academy - Havering

Olive Academies is a multi-academy trust with three alternative provision academies and an outreach service in London and east of England.  We work with pupils who are at risk of exclusion, those who have been permanently excluded from scholl and those who have medical needs.  Our aim is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked.  We help our pupils to develop their confidence, gain skills and reach their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Olive AP Academy – Havering provides a broad curriculum to a diverse group of young people. We cater for up to 64 young people and children, aged between 11 and 16, who have experienced difficulty in learning for a variety of reasons. The academy also offers an intervention programme specifically for those young people at risk of permanent exclusion from their mainstream school.

Our academies are based in Hornchurch in Havering, Tilbury in Thurrock and Stowmarket in Suffolk.
