Aurora Academies Trust aims to provide excellent education for the children and families that our academies serve, where every pupil thrives and makes great progress. Our vision is clear: we are determined to provide the best possible standard of education to our pupils, regardless of background or ability, every single day. We are unflinching in our determination to instil in our pupils a love of learning, raise their aspirations, and teach respect and tolerance. All our academies are unique, reflecting their own distinct communities, with the Aurora Pillars supporting the development of all pupils, families, and staff across the Trust. We pride ourselves on being Seven Schools, One Family.

Heron Park Primary Academy is a vibrant primary academy in the Hampden Park area on the outskirts of Eastbourne. The school is two-form entry with a Nursery and educates up to 450 pupils. The vision of the academy is to lead a generation to be aspirational learners, through our relentless focus on quality, excellence, and passion.

Since joining the Aurora family in 2012, we have made great strides in establishing ourselves as a consistently improving and popular school. Heron Park Academy is a hub for the local community and committed to developing the whole child, with many opportunities for music, sport, art, and caring for animals. The setting is appealing- a recently refurbished large, single-story building with a brand-new library and lots of outside space. Our dedicated staff team focus on each child every day, to support and challenge their learning and experience of school. Together we’ve put Heron Park firmly on the path to excellence, but our ambitions for the future mean there is much more to do for the next leader of the school.

For the right leader, this is quite the opportunity. Heron Park Primary Academy is a continuously improving school within a supportive and growing MAT. You’ll be given every opportunity to work collaboratively with talented leaders across the Aurora family, embedding a shared culture of excellent practice and standards. As our new Headteacher, you will provide dedicated and compelling leadership that will further improve the academy for the children it serves. This will involve overseeing the embedding of the Aurora Curriculum- a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious senior leader to lead the next chapter of our improvement journey, ensuring best-practice teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do.

In return, we can offer you exceptional support and an exciting career within a nurturing and growing organisation. At Aurora Academies Trust we know that our schools need the best staff teams, and the best Headteachers to lead them. If you are a dedicated and driven senior leader, then do get in touch. To arrange a confidential conversation about the role, please contact our recruitment partners at Propelo on 01273 222 877 or visit: AAT.our-careers.co.uk

Aurora Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Aurora Academies Trust is fully committed to equality and to valuing diversity as an employer and a provider of education.
