Job overview

Waterside Academy in Welwyn Garden City is a vibrant one form entry primary and nursery school with an optional pre-school.  It is in an exciting phase of its journey, having recently joined the Herts for Learning Multi Academy Trust.

Our current Headteacher is re-locating for personal reasons and the Governors and Trust are seeking an inspirational leader to build upon the excellent foundations she has built to create the fantastic school our children deserve.

Each school within our Trust retains its own distinctive ethos, but the schools work closely together to ensure best practice and provision for the children within it. In recruiting a Headteacher, we are seeking someone to help shape and share our vision, values and ethos.

We recognise that there are many challenges in the education system and more ahead.  By working in partnership, we want to ensure that Waterside Academy enables every pupil to reach their potential so that they are well prepared to thrive in the next stage of their education.

The forward-thinking, enthusiastic and inspirational leader we are looking for will:

  •  Be optimistic and committed to the achievement of every child
  •  Coach, mentor and develop our staff team
  •  Work closely with Governors and the Trust within an open and encouraging philosophy
  •  Ensure the best outcomes for the children and the school

Our children describe their school as ‘fun’, ‘caring’ and ‘exciting’. If you think you may have what it takes to drive Waterside Academy forward and inspire its children and community we invite you to come and look around.  To arrange a visit to the school or should you have any questions, please email admin@waterside.herts.sch.uk or telephone 01707 321203.
