The Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational Headteacher who is a Practising Catholic, leads by example and will further develop our school’s great potential whilst maintaining its Catholic ethos and character.

We are proud of our school but recognise that we cannot afford to be complacent; we are looking for a candidate who can build on our solid foundations and make changes where they are needed to drive standards across the school. Governors are keen to see the school grow to serve the Catholic population of the parishes and are currently exploring opportunities to expand to 2 forms of entry.

We would welcome applications from experienced deputies and serving heads who will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership, management and communication skills, and also possess:

  • A passion and enthusiasm for each individual child’s learning and determination to see that each child maximises their full potential.
  • A clear, consistent focus on Teaching and Learning; with a track record of supporting and developing outstanding teaching.
  • An unrelenting drive to maintain standards; ensuring that pupils make excellent progress from high starting points.
  • A vision for leading St Mary’s to outstanding.

As a confident, innovative and proactive leader, the successful applicant will show that they are able to maintain good relationships throughout the school community and participate fully in the life of the school.
