Job overview

We are looking for a Head Teacher to join Chilton Bridge School who is passionate about developing innovative and alternative curriculum designs for pupils with SEMH and ASC needs.

At Spaghetti Bridge, we celebrate our unique three stage curriculum approach to learning, which embeds the necessary 21st century skills that our children need in order to lead fulfilling lives in a fast changing society.

With a primary focus on developing progressive pedagogy, the successful candidate will work alongside our School Leadership Team and Group Support members to develop research-led curriculum developments. We are looking for a creative and passionate person who strives to think outside the box and thrives on working closely with like minded individuals.

Our relational approach will be modelled by the successful candidate, who will demonstrate a compassionate, emotionally intelligent leadership style.

We value leaders who are able to challenge the status quo, to think creatively and are able to find new solutions to the challenges we face in education and society.

Chilton Bridge School is a newly opened independent special school for pupils aged 6 – 19 near Yeovil, Somerset. Set in a beautiful countryside setting, with sector-leading resources and support from the Spaghetti Bridge group; the perfect balance of autonomy and influence with help and advice from experienced, child-centred professionals.

The group has developed a new and exciting approach to curriculum and learning and will provide a detailed framework re. policies and typical ways of working but the successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute towards our ongoing development, to refine our model and to ‘put their stamp’ onto Chilton Bridge School.

We are strongly committed to providing high quality professional development for all our staff. As part of a growing group, we will be able to offer significant opportunities to work in collaboration with colleagues from across the group in order to develop innovative practice.

The wellbeing of our staff is an important priority therefore we provide opportunities to ensure we value their hard work and dedication and promote a healthy work-life balance.

We are constantly reviewing our practices to ensure that our staff can focus on what matters: providing a rich environment in which children and young adults can learn and thrive.

We recognise that our schools all serve their own communities and are unique, but are keen to meet individuals who are passionate about adopting our innovative approaches.
