Job overview

Are you a Senior Leader ready for that next career step?

We are looking for an inspirational and pragmatic leader who can take our school forward on its journey towards excellence, supported by a well informed and committed governing body. The school is a haven in this busy seaside town and is uniquely positioned to further the mission of Catholic education. Located in beautiful grounds in Ryde on the Isle of Wight, easily commutable from the mainland. Commuter or relocation package available.

St Mary's is a welcoming and vibrant school community. The governors are proud of the school's success in promoting a culture of celebration of achievement in all areas, providing a friendly and inclusive environment, with a strong pastoral care system. We are a one form entry primary school with a thriving pre-school on site. We are often over subscribed with a waiting list.

St Mary's is federated with St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School and the schools share one governing body. Our Executive Headteacher is leaving and the governors agreed that the next step for both schools required a single headteacher in each school. We are therefore seeking to appoint a practising Catholic as Headteacher who will build on our current good practice and bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to drive school improvement further forward.

Application procedure:

Visits to school are warmly welcomed between 3 April and 28 April 2017. Please make an appointment with the Chair of Governors by ringing the school on Tel: 01983 562 000 or email: sbm@stmaryspri.co.uk.
