The Marvell College are looking to appoint an exceptional Headteacher to continue with our success and vision to achieve excellence for our students.  In summer 2019, we were rated by Ofsted as GOOD in all areas.  

We are part of the hugely successful Hull Collaborative Academy Trust (HCAT).  We operate in close partnership with St Mary’s College (Hull), who are one of the top 100 comprehensive schools in the country.  The Marvell College is an exciting inner-city secondary school, which currently has 1136 children on role, ages 11-16.   

The Marvell College and Hull Collaborative Academy Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and all staff are carefully screened prior to appointment.

Start Date: 1st May 2020

Salary: Leadership Group – Competitive salary commensurate with experience and proven track record of strategic ability in senior leadership.

Contract type: Full Time

About The Marvell College

The Marvell College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in the East Riding of Yorkshire, serving students from the age of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Kingston upon Hull has approximately 1129 students on record.

The Marvell College was established in 1953. Formerly Barham High School for girls and Jervis High School for boys, the schools later combined as one co-educational establishment and was renamed Andrew Marvell School. The secondary school converted to academy status in 2016 and changed names to The Marvell College. £27 million has been invested into learning facilities across the academic departments, which include a fully equipped gym, music recording studio, a dance and drama studio and science and eco garden.

The Marvell College’s vision is to provide all students with the support and encouragement so that they can achieve to the highest of their potential. The secondary school focuses on providing high quality care and teaching to allow for students to progress and succeed. It is important to the school that all students feel welcome, safe and encouraged. The Marvell College nurtures students spiritually, morally, physically and academically and believes that all children have an important role to play in the school community. Students are encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular activities to allow for them to expand their opportunities and experiences outside of the classroom.
