`Valued, encouraged and challenged to be the best we can possibly be.'

We have an exciting opportunity for an inspirational Headteacher to lead our vibrant, diverse and inclusive school. Following the retirement of our Head after a long career of successful leadership in our school, we are seeking a dynamic leader with an ambitious vision for our school's success.

- can you foster a culture of high achievement and excellence to inspire our children and staff?

- do you have a proven track record of leadership with high expectations, leading by example?

- can you identify and create opportunities for advancement and development to the benefit of pupils, staff and the wider community?

- are you passionate about celebrating the diversity and inclusivity that we are so proud of in our school?

Then we would love to receive your application.

In return, we can offer you:

- enthusiastic children, who love to learn and care for each other and their environment

- a team of committed, hard-working and caring staff

- a supportive and engaged governing body

- a commitment to your continued professional development.

Dallas Road Community Primary School is a two-form entry school with 416 children on roll. We are an inclusive school, judged by OFSTED to be `Good' in 2017, with Early Years provision highlighted as a particular strength. Our pupils are enthusiastic learners who feel valued as individuals in our school. Our dedicated staff strive to encourage and challenge them every day through a rich curriculum that is delivered with passion and expertise.

We believe in nurturing self-belief and mutual trust and in educating the whole person in preparation for life in an ever-changing world. We create an environment where there is the freedom for all to flourish; a place where children are provided with the values, skills and confidence to take ownership of their future to follow their dreams and to believe in themselves.

As a community primary school, we are committed to nurturing strong ties with the wider community in which we are embedded. Dallas Road is situated in the centre of the university city of Lancaster and has a long-standing reputation as a popular choice for the children of university staff and students, both national and international. Lancaster enjoys a vibrant, diverse culture and arts scene with a lively, independent city centre steeped in history. We are a progressive city, a place of sanctuary and, as a school, we reflect our city's strong environmental agenda. At Dallas Road, we are always seeking to enrich our curriculum through exciting visitors and engaging excursions.

We welcome applicants who are available to start in September 2020.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a 'disclosure'.
