Job overview

Endeavour Learning Trust is a steadily growing Trust in the North West, currently spanning South Ribble, West Lancashire and North Sefton. In our family of schools at this point in our growth, we currently have three secondary schools, two primary schools, a Teaching School Alliance and a SCITT, with other schools coming on board in the near future.

Our family ethos is tangible; we work as a team and we want the best for everyone. We are also staunch in our commitment to doing this in a way which protects the wellbeing of our staff and our students; our commitment to reducing workload is non-negotiable. Our behaviour policies enable teachers to teach and students to learn and we strive to ensure that our schools are communities of enjoyment, learning, challenge and teamwork. We seek to thrive; individually, together, in our classrooms, staffrooms, schools and across the Trust.

As the founding school in the Trust, Tarleton Academy has been on a transformational journey since 2011 and provided the bedrock upon which the Endeavour Learning Trust was established and continues to grow. Tarleton now enjoys an excellent reputation locally and across the North West, regularly performing in the top 10% of schools nationally on Progress measures.

This success is borne of a truly collegiate approach within school; with support staff, teachers and leaders working closely together to ensure our culture and practices are truly effective and we work together as one. The warmth and energy in the school are a real strength.

In addition, we actively facilitate collaboration across our schools at all levels, to spread workload and to capture and harness best practice wherever it exists.

As the new Headteacher of this school you will:

• Benefit from the strong support of our Executive Team

• Inherit tried and tested central policies which enable staff to do their jobs well

• Enjoy the wider specialisms that the Trust offers centrally, so that the Head doesn’t need to be the expert in every field (e.g. finance, HR, estates, ICT)

• Become an active team member with the leadership across the Trust and contribute to the strategic development of our schools

• Be supported in your Headship journey with a genuine commitment to work/home balance

• Lead a team of amazing staff and work with our fantastic students

We are now looking for a fantastic candidate to join our thriving and supportive Trust; someone who gets who we are at Tarleton, can inspire our school community, build on the excellent practice already in place and contribute to the Trust as a whole.

Whether you are seeking your first Headteacher post or an experienced school leader looking for the next challenge in your career, if you are committed to championing excellence and looking for an opportunity to lead a flagship school within our Trust, we want to hear from you.

Please complete the TES online application form which should be submitted by 5th October 2020 (12 noon)

Only completed Application Forms will be accepted. CV’s will not be accepted.

Endeavour Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
