St Paul's CE Primary School is a voluntary controlled Church of England school situated in the Rossendale valley, which is well serviced by the motorway network and public transport. We were rated 'Good' following our last OFSTED inspection in November 2012 and SIAMS, in rating the school 'Outstanding' in June 2015 commented, 'The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners.'

St Paul's is a well-resourced primary school, with stable staffing, a supportive Governing Body, an active PTA and keen parental involvement. The school also has strong links with the local church.

The Governing Body, staff and pupils of St Paul's CE Primary School wish to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Headteacher from January 2017.

Requirements of the successful candidate:

  • Qualified teacher status and educated to degree level
  • Recent successful leadership role as a Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or Assistant Headteacher
  • Has a passion to ensure every child succeeds and reaches their full potential
  • Is a leader of learning and able to demonstrate, promote and encourage outstanding classroom practice
  • Able to inspire, motivate, empower and influence others, especially in promoting the value of education, within a Christian context
  • Responsible for the leadership, good management and strategic direction to the school, conducting the affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils and community it serves
  • Lead and manage whole school policy, its implementation and evaluation
  • Manage and develop the school curriculum, learning and teaching provision in order to promote improved educational outcomes.
