Are you a community focused, enthusiastic, and talented senior leader?

Rawdon St Peter’s C of E Primary School sits at the heart of our community and we’re proud of its achievements: It is a great school on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Leeds. Our Headteacher is retiring after over 25 years’ service as a teacher and for the past 15 years, our school leader. We are now looking for the right individual with the ambition to lead us and build on our current successes. The school caters for children between 4 and 11 years of age. We firmly believe that our children are at the centre of everything that we do, and we encourage them all to be the very best that they can be.

Our children and school community are looking for a headteacher who will:

  • Lead by example – with integrity, creativity, and clarity – inspiring and influencing other stakeholders to provide the best educational environment for our children
  • Have an awareness of the distinctiveness of a church school and a passion for the school’s Christian ethos
  • Prioritise the wellbeing, resilience and achievements of our children and staff and put this at the heart of all decisions.
  • Create a stimulating school learning environment, encouraging enquiring minds and the development of lifelong learning skills and attitudes.
  • Demand ambitious standards for all pupils, overcoming disadvantage and advancing equality, instilling a strong sense of ownership and accountability from staff for the impact their work has on pupils’ outcomes
  • Create an ethos within which an already skilled staff team are motivated and supported to research and develop their own skills and subject knowledge, and to support each other
  • Be visible and accessible, engaging positively with children, staff, parents, Governors, and the community.
  • Provide a safe, calm, and well-ordered environment for all pupils and staff, focused on safeguarding pupils and developing their exemplary behaviour in school and in the wider society
  • Evaluate the school’s performance and identify the priorities for continuous improvement and raising standards
  • Develop an outward-facing school capable of collaborating in partnership with other schools and organisations to champion best practices and excellent outcomes for pupils
  • Ensure that the child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures adopted by the governing body are fully implemented and followed by all staff

In return we offer:

  • Confident, happy children who enjoy their time in school and are eager to learn and succeed.
  • Talented, committed professional staff who are open to development and new ideas.
  • A fully supportive Governing Body who are ambitious for the school and its pupils.
  • A bright, spacious, and well-resourced learning environment set in green space.
  • A thriving school community with supportive parents, an active PTA, excellent relationships with St Peter’s Church and strong collaborative relationships with our neighbouring schools in the Aireborough Learning Partnership Trust.

You are warmly encouraged to visit our school and have set aside times (see below) when you are welcome to come and find out more about us (Covid permitting). Please contact the school office on 0113 2504201 to book a place on one of these time slots.
